A leading education research company is hiring for a 3rd Line Support Engineer on a contract basis.
3 month initial contract (rolling)
*OUTSIDE of IR35 until April 6th then the contract will be INSIDE*
Circa £300-£350 per day
Maintaining physical and virtual servers, ensuring appropriate patching and other fixes are applied and troubleshooting where appropriate.
Ensuring high levels of system availability and that the systems are secure.
Monitoring server health and recommending any necessary actions to the senior systems engineer.
Managing patching of laptops and troubleshooting as appropriate
Implementing and supporting agreed solutions ensuring that documentation is relevant and up to date.
Supporting the ICT Helpdesk team and providing problem resolution for staff as required.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the role including covering for other team
Excellent understanding of on-premise Microsoft servers (2012, 2016, Active Directory, Group policies, on premise Exchange 2016).
Experience of implementing and supporting server and desktop virtualisation with VMware virtualisation software.
Ability to set up, manage and monitor Active Directory
Experience of managing backup processes with Veeam
Experience of managing NetApp storage
Experience of using security and event management monitoring tools.
Knowledge of patch management for Microsoft applications, servers & desktops and non Microsoft applications.
Configuring and installing anti virus software on servers and desktops.
Knowledge of LAN infrastructures (Ethernet, wireless, switches, firewalls, dhcp ,dns)
