Strategy Director, Insight and Planning

A leading London-based Telco is seeking a new Strategy Director for Insight and Planning. They have recently gone through a significant amount of change and transformation and presents a unique opportunity in the market.

The Strategy Director will be responsible and accountable for working with the Executive and Senior Management Team to support the development of strategy and resolve key strategic issues. In particular they will establish and run a robust strategic planning process within the business, which will underpin the medium term and annual operating plan. The Strategy Director will be providing incisive leadership on strategy by understanding the business dynamics and the translation of these into creative and challenging strategies.

The Strategy Director will be accountable for driving and shaping the overall company strategy and will work closely with the CEO, MDs, and Board on a regular, “business as usual” basis.

Key Experience:
-A strong grasp of the telecoms, media & technology markets
-8+ years of previous experience in a mix of strategy and commercial roles in the telecoms and related industries
-Extensive experience of strategy planning and delivery and be accountable for that strategy
-A comprehensive corporate strategy skill-set, most likely developed at a leading strategy consulting practice
-Industry experience, working in a strategy, commercial or operational role; and be able to point to examples of real change into a business
-As an alternative to a strategy consulting background, you may come from a financial or commercial background, but must be able to evidence strategic problem-solving and leadership
-MBA and/or other degree or professional qualification, or equivalent experience
-Highly effective communicator both written and oral
-Able to challenge, influence, and negotiate at senior levels
-Demonstrates an extremely high level of analytical capability
-Strong financial and commercial acumen and excellent commercial experience/judgement
