Head of Test

An industry leading retail/restaurant technology company are hiring a Head of Test as they expand their global team from the Stoke-On-Trent office.

Despite the lockdown and economic halt, this company has actually had record sales over the past few months as the food delivery industry continues to prosper.

This is the first test hire within the tech team in the UK so will be leading all testing activity plus working closely with the CTO and managing a large team in India of circa 34 people and 1 in the UK. You will be transforming many of the organisations key, global platforms and ways of testing over the coming years moving to further automation.

The Head of Test will be a mix of hands on testing and people management. You will work with technologies such as: IntelliJ, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Aurora Serverless, AWS Lambda, MySQL, RESTful API’s, JavaScript frameworks, React, React Native, Node and Angular2, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes + more as the technical landscape changes.

You will need to have at least 5 years of automation experience, strong understanding of TDD, BDD and be capable of running a remote team in India. Any experience managing testing outsource agreements would be a bonus.

A main focus of the role will be managing a large team of testers and engineers in Chennai, India and work on improving their processes, setting standards, metrics/KPI’s and objectives. There will be occasional travel to the office in India sometime next year when international lockdown restrictions are lifted. 

You will likely be 2 days remote/3 days office based whilst in the UK office.

The role pays around £65k and will be based in the UK HQ in Stoke-On-Trent. They still have a start-up mentality but are no longer a start-up.
