An industry leader within professional development is hiring for a new Data Governance Manager.

£80,000-£90,000 + benefits
Remote with occasional London office visits

The new Data Governance Manager will develop and embed a new data governance framework that ensures effective data management across the organisation and results in quality data being available and enabling business decisions.

2 major projects in flight the Data Governance Manager will be heavily involved with; CRM replacement and MDM.

Key accountabilities:

Manage and deliver an organisation wide Data Governance and Quality Programme.
Develop, own and maintain the Data Governance Framework
Develop targets for achievable data quality standards, and define measures and metrics to monitor and demonstrate the business value of data quality initiative
Evaluate data quality risks and mitigations, in particular regulatory or statutory compliance, and propose remediation plans.
Lead, support and mentor a matrix team of data stewards who are accountable for ensuring the improvement of data capture and quality.
Design and manage the implementation of projects with a heavy data management angle, such as migration of reporting tools, new data integration systems or Master Data Management.
Identify and negotiate business rules and system changes to improve, maintain and enhance data quality.
Provision Business Intelligence reports and dashboards to enable new visualisation opportunities and track existing actions and campaigns.
Develop and deliver regular reports on the quality of our data and the progress of the Data Governance and Quality Programme.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience:

Proven and successful track record in data governance and associated data management principles and practices
Broad knowledge of data management methods and tools, with specific expertise in data governance & data quality approaches and technologies
Practical working knowledge of GDPR
Good communication and stakeholder management skills, including being able to demonstrate the use of various techniques depending on the audience and communicate difficult, technical concepts to a business audience
Keen interest in Data Governance philosophies, approaches, and techniques
An understanding of SQL server, and Management Studio(desirable)
Experience with one or more specific data quality tools
Experience with reporting tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics or MS Power BI
A professional qualification in data management, for example CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), IQCP (Information Quality Certified Professional), the IDM Award in Data Management, etc.(desirable)
